Ground (bore) water untreated
What is Ground Water?
Ground water comes from bores, wells or springs. It is a common water source as it is generally considered to be reliable. However it is often high in minerals.
What are the common concerns with Ground Water?
Groundwater is often high in minerals, some of which are undesirable. Also some groundwater sources are susceptible to microbiological contamination particularly if they are shallow (less than 30m deep) or open.
How can I find out what is in my groundwater?
You may have an idea of your issues from visual cues that some minerals can leave. However the only way to get a full picture is to have your water tested at its source, especially as the more dangerous things are not usually ones we can detect with sight, taste or smell.
How do I treat ground water?
The treatment on your water will depend on what is in it. However we will always advise disinfection as a preventative measure to keep you safe from the risk of microbial contamination which can occur at any time, either in the source or at a storage tank.
Here at Aqua, we have professional experts who will evaluate your water test and design a system that is specially tailored to both your water quality and your usage needs. We don’t believe in a one size fits all approach.
We can correct any issue that arises in bore water. We will also tell you if a particular source becomes uneconomical to treat and help you find another option.
What are the common concerns with ground water?
The biggest concern is that surface water is regularly contaminated with faecal matter, which is a serious risk to health. In addition to this, weather events often cause the water to become heavily laden with sediment and discoloured with organic matter. Surface water is also in contact with the ground and can contain undesirable minerals.
Surface water (creeks, streams, rivers) untreated
What is Surface Water?
Surface water is water that comes from streams, rivers, creeks, ponds or dams. Generally for domestic use, this is the most difficult to treat as water quality is so variable. If you are building a new house, it is advised that surface water should not be the first choice of water source. How can I find out what is in my surface water? In order to look at surface water for treatment a water test is needed to check if minerals which will interfere with other types of treatment are present.
